Hemlock House

2018-2020

Close Ups

I moved to Hemlock House, in Portland, in 2018. It's been an incredible journey with lots of ups and downs. One of the perks is having an outdoor space where I can paint, AND space to store my work!

Hemlock is well on its way to becoming an cooperative art space. Some amazing collaborative work and weird events have come out of our group efforts. To see more of what the community has to offer, check out the Hidden Ladder Collective, a Portland-based art collective with a history long before my own.

The last few years I've been painting on storm windows. They are durable, lightweight and easy to hang. This past summer I built myself a spin table out of an old stool, a countertop piece, and some old bike tubes. The combination of water, spinning and spraypaint makes for some rad color splashes!

Close-up photos of these recent paintings were used to create my greeting card designs and large prints. A big thanks to Molly Tucker for her excellent photography work!
